An exhibition catalog from Chaperone which occurred at the EFA Project Space Gallery from June 10th through July 29th, 2009. This eight-week summer event was a weekly series consisting of films handpicked by a group of artists, all whose work provocatively explores disparate aspects of our culture's love affair with mediated reality.

Each artist has been asked to share a film he or she finds curious, masterful, or compelling. Through live introductions and an accompanying publication, the artists presented their "take" on these selected cinematic works, giving greater insight and dimension to our understanding of their own distinct creative processes. Whether it be a classic, a blockbuster, a musical, a slasher, or an art-house indie, the audience experienced each film through the watchful eyes of the eight dutiful ‘chaperones’.
