EFA Project Space is making plans for the future.
EFA Project Space Program was launched in 2008 as the public venue of The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts. Intended as more than an art gallery, the program was conceived of as a forum to respond to the needs of the art community, investigating artistic practices across backgrounds and disciplines.
Over the past eight seasons, EFA Project Space has presented critical survey exhibitions, process-based investigations, performances, talks, screenings, social events, residencies and workshops. Each season is produced in collaboration with a roster of guest curators and organizers, providing a dynamic and discursive perspective of contemporary art practice.
As we strive to be a site for thought-provoking contexts for artistic engagement, we now enter a phase of evaluation, asking how we - as a non-profit contemporary art space in Manhattan - can create the most considerate and compelling cultural impact.
For our 2017 season, we ask you to get “meta” with us, exploring the nuanced and complex relationships artists have to each other and to our changing society. We aim to generate artistic content and dialogue exploring artists’ contingent relationships to the cultural landscape.
CURATORIAL PROPOSALS
Deadline: May 20, 2016
